Birds can be such a lovely thing to have in the garden but to some of us it can be a real pain. When birds get use to a nice area they have a tendency to re visit often.

Birds are creatures of habit as we are and they never forget a great place but some people are right at this moment looking for the right bird deterrent. Which one should you go for as there are quite a few. Well lets start with the Hawk Kites. Many birds are naturally afraid of predators such as birds of prey. “Hawk Kites” are designed to fly from poles or anywhere that you can secure it from. When the wind blows they hover above the area you want to be protected.

Next you have the Ultrasonic Scarers. These babies  are electronic devices that make a very high pitch ultrasound. The sound was made with humans in mind as the systems pitch of sound is far too high for the normal person to hear, but most birds will think this is far too loud for them to cope with. The only draw back is that young children do have a high sensativity to sound and can hear the sound and will almost definatly cause headaches so be aware of having the young children around when using these devices.

The Last that I will mention is Balloons. This is the most cheapest of all deterrents. Tie some balloons to trees and anything that is some sort of pillar out of the ground in your area that you want to protect. The balloons should have a nice big face of a bird of prey, like the picture above. As they float around while tied to your post or tree, in the wind, they will scare the birds away. For a while anyway as birds will eventually work out that the balloons have no threat to them.
