Get rid of pigeons?
Posted by admin on April 13th, 2010 filed in bird control productsA friend of mine has pigeons all over her balcony making it unfriendly for margaritas. I want to buy her pigeon spikes…does anyone know if those work or where to get them from?

I don’t know about pigeon spikes….but a cat works pretty well. Have your friend get a cat and let the cat go out on the balcony.
*We have a screened porch that we let our cat out on and it keeps most of the birds at a distance.
Better: have the cat fix the margaritas, then come out on the balcony.
*Our cat says he’s too "scared" of the blender, so I have to fix the margaritas myself.
In response to the below poster, cats are "free" most places, so they are much cheaper than a decoy owl that doesn’t do anything. If you get lucky and get a copycat, the cat will pay for itself, and you can copy those UPC barcodes and receipts when you send in for a rebate without having to leave the house.

pigeon spikes do work however they are fairly expensive, about $200 for a 4 foot section, i suggest you try a decoy owl, those cost about $20 and usually work really well, you can even buy them at walmart
