Biker Bird interview

‘Tampa Bay’s best-known and, possibly, most accomplished bird is missing’ - screamed the headline in my morning paper. And, as I soon discovered while reading the rest of the article about Spike the famous Macaw, I knew I had some video of Spike in my files (that my friend Lee Diekemper and I shot back in 2007 at a local bike night) You can read the complete story here: www.tampabay.com I thought might help Mike Mularz, the birds owner, recover his Macaw so, I set about editing this short video piece this morning with the intention of putting it online as quickly as possible in an effort to help Mularz spread the word far and wide to allert area folksto be on the lookout for Spike! But when I called Mularz at work this morning for his contact information and an update, I was pleased to learn that Mike and Spike had been reunited just last night around 10 PM As it turns out, Spikes notoriety was a contributing factor along with local newspaper and TV coverage- to the Macaws speedy and safe return. Mularz told me that he was contacted by a young man at a local pet store yesterday who provided some pertinent information leading to Spikes safe return. Although the circumstances surrounding Spikes disappearance and eventual return are a bit shady, Mike is grateful to have Spike home and hes willing to call this case closed. There was a growing reward fund of around 0.00 for Spikes safe return and Mike told me that money will probably go to the young man at the pet store
